Brief history of the Derwent Valley Country Music Club Inc.

The club was established on the 10th of July 1993
The founding members were:

Some of our first club members were: Reg and Nancy Fisher Bill and Coleen Oates Geoff Taylor
How the club got it's logo and name
Logo
The initial logo was a wagon wheel taken from a comic book of John Wayne Wagon Wheels
This was changed later to our present logo of a map of Tasmania and a horse drawn wagon
Name
The club's name DERWENT VALLEY COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB was originated by Dirk Kooy Dirk established the club for the people of New Norfolk and surrounding areas. His reason being was he had found most people were sick of watching television every night. The club is about local people getting together, making new friends and enjoying themselves.
The club's locations over the years were:
The Enterprise Centre in Blair Street - New Norfolk
The Memorial Hall in Circle Street - New Norfolk
ANM Hall - Derwent Terrace - New Norfolk
Uniting Church Hall in Burnett Street - New Norfolk
The club started meeting on a Thursday night at the Enterprise Hall in New Norfolk
It was decided by the committee and members in 1996 to move the club to Dromedary Hall
On the 24th of August 2011 the Land Titles Office issued a new Certificate of Title noting the club as the registered owners of the Millvale Hall (Dromedary Hall).
